The exhibition “The Light of Orthodoxy — the Light of the Soul” presents artifacts related to the Orthodox culture of the late 19th — early 20th century. The visitors can see all kinds of relics that helped people comprehend the Christian teaching, strengthened faith and guided them in challenging situations. These are Orthodox books, icons, church and personal crosses and images.
For the most part, the exhibition is assembled from religious objects previously kept in the families of the residents of Kuybyshev.
The collection also includes liturgical utensils from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior of Kainsk. This church, destroyed in 1939, was the spiritual and architectural center of the town. Years after the destruction of the building, people found church artifacts and donated them to the museum. These objects of worship became exhibits of the museum and were added to the themed exhibition.
