The permanent exhibition of the Borisovka Museum of Local History introduces visitors to the history of the region from ancient times to the present day.
The section “Our Land in Antiquity” presents a collection of archaeological finds — monuments of the Bondarikhinskaya, Chernoles, Romny, Zolnic and Catacomb cultures.
The themes “Borisovka — the Patrimony of the Sheremetevs” and “Crafts of the Borisovka Area” cover different stages of the development of the village. The history of the uprising on the Battleship Potemkin, the First World War, and the revolution of 1917 have been preserved in written and photographic documents and scrupulously collected by local historians.
Remarkable musicians, writers, and artists, including Gavriil Lomakin, Mikhail Khvostenko, and Pavel Barvinsky, came from the serfs of Borisovka. The exhibition “Talents of the Borisovka Land” presents paintings, reproductions, documentary photographs dedicated to their life and work.
The names of nine Heroes of the Soviet Union and two Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory are immortalized in the “Military Hall”; a Book of Memory and wartime exhibits are displayed. The artifacts of the exhibition “Borisovka from the 1950s to the Present Day” chronicle the formation of the Belgorod Oblast, the strengthening of collective farms, the development of agriculture and industry.
The hall “Famous Countrymen” contains materials about outstanding natives of the region: members of the aerobatic team “Russian Knights”, academician Yury Ponomarenko, Honored Doctor Vladimir Kulikovsky, professor of the Moscow Conservatory Anatoly Loshak, and laser physicist Alexander Sopin.
